This book tells the story as a 'day in the life of Scotty'. You will see how he gets dressed, how he has adapted to playing different sports, and just everyday things like going apple picking. He shows you how he has figured out the various situations and understands that it is not always going to be easy. Scotty even has a special 'way' when it comes to those difficult situations! You can find out what that is in the book! There are still many things he will be faced with throughout life that will have to be figured out. But, there is always a way. No matter what the situation, challenge, or difference, there is ALWAYS a way!
I am always amazed at all the things Scotty can do that he never thinks twice about. I started putting pictures together so one day, he could see how proud we were of him. I quickly realized that I could publish these accomplishments and give encouragement and hope to other parents with children living with a limb difference.
Now that the book is in print, I believe this can be used in so many more ways. It's not just about having a limb difference, it could be about anything. No matter what the difference is, we all just need to find our own way to do the things we want to do.
